Understanding the Price of Data in Commercial DMs @ ICDE23

Back home after IEEE ICDE Conference#ICDE23! Very grateful to the organizers and volunteers for their superb work. I presented our #research paper on «Understanding the price of #data in commercial data marketplaces» in the Special Research Track and joined a posterior discussion panel moderated by Mohan C. It was a truly exciting session that included very interesting papers and visions by Rihan HaiShubha Guha and Thomas Neumann.

I had also the opportunity of attending very interesting research paper sessions and a comprehensive tutorial by Prof. Jian Pei and Prof. Xiaohui Yu about “Data Acquisition and Valuation in Data Markets”. Very glad to meet in person and discuss with Prof. Raúl Castro, who is doing a superb work on streamlining data marketplaces and data sharing. Looking forward to meeting you all again in future events!

You can find the paper here. There is also a video of the session, and I made public the slide deck and the dataset we managed to gather as a result of this research. Hopefully, we’ll be able to publish a follow up on this work soon.
