It was a pleasure giving my talk «What Is the Data Economy, and Why Should I Care?» at the Institute for Research in Technology (IIT) of Univ. Pontificia de Comillas.
I intended to raise awareness on this interesting topic. After introducing some basic concepts of the data economy, I pointed to exciting opportunities at the intersection of economics, computer science, and digital law for cutting-edge research on overcoming the challenges of streamlining data markets. We then had an interesting Q&A session on the situation of data markets, the business models of entities participating in them, and the role of EU regulation and its impact on innovation and competitiveness.

Find a link to the recording of the talk here. Many thanks to Prof. Gregorio López and Prof. Mario Castro for the kind invitation, and to the people organizing the event at the IIT.
