We are offering several paid part-time research positions for Bachelor’s and Master’s students at the ETSIT UPM interested in working on cutting-edge applied data science projects.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to:

• Contribute to ongoing research projects with real-world impact.
• Develop their Bachelor’s or Master’s Thesis within the research group.
• Co-author scientific publications targeting top-tier conferences and journals
• Gain hands-on experience with advanced data science, machine learning, generative AI and interpretability techniques.

Several positions are available, including opportunities in collaboration with industry partners, across topics such as:

• Measuring the data economy through web crawling, NLP, LLMs, RAG, and interactive visualization dashboards.
• Developing ML models for telecom networks, including 5G and new Low-Earth Orbit satellite networks (such as those provided by Starlink), to address problems such as load prediction, anomaly detection, or benchmarking.
• Leveraging big data to analyze and predict the economic impact of specific touristic events.
